4TH INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON DRUG-RELATED STUDIES 2026
The 4th International Symposium on Drug-Related Studies – 2026, organized by the National Dangerous Drugs Control Board (NDDCB) of Sri Lanka, will be held in November 2026 under the theme “One Nation, One Response: Advancing Collective Action and Scientific Evidence to Address Drug Challenges.” As Sri Lanka's national focal point for drug prevention, control, treatment, and rehabilitation, the NDDCB remains committed to promoting research, innovation, and evidence-based policymaking to address the evolving complexities of drug-related challenges. The symposium serves as a premier platform for researchers, policymakers, practitioners, law enforcement professionals, healthcare experts, and community stakeholders to exchange knowledge, share best practices, and strengthen collaborative responses to drug-related issues.

The symposium will feature four thematic tracks:

• Track 1: Strengthening Prevention through Community Engagement and Evidence-Based and Innovative Strategies;
• Track 2: Advancing Treatment, Rehabilitation, and Recovery through Integrated and Rights-Based Approaches;
• Track 3: Strengthening Supply Reduction through Coordinated Law Enforcement and Justice Sector Responses;
• Track 4: Enhancing Scientific, Forensic, and Analytical Capacities for Evidence-Based Drug Control;

Building upon the success of the previous three international symposiums, the 2026 symposium emphasizes the importance of a united and coordinated national response guided by scientific evidence and collective action. Through multidisciplinary discussions, scientific presentations, and international collaboration, the symposium aims to foster innovative solutions, strengthen partnerships across sectors, and advance integrated approaches to both drug demand and supply reduction. By bringing together national and international expertise, the symposium seeks to contribute towards building healthier communities, enhancing public safety, and supporting a safer and more resilient Sri Lanka. The National Dangerous Drugs Control Board warmly invites researchers, academics, healthcare professionals, law enforcement officials, policymakers, students, community practitioners, and development partners from Sri Lanka and around the world to join this important platform to share knowledge, inspire innovation, and collectively advance evidence-based solutions to contemporary drug challenges.
